The Ordinance on the Training and Further Training of Certified Mediators (Zertifizierte-Mediatoren-Ausbildungsverordnung – ZMediatAusbV) came into force on September 1, 2017. The ordinance regulates the training and further training of certified mediators as well as the requirements for training and further training institutions. The aim of this ordinance is to ensure the quality of mediation services and increase market transparency. Those seeking mediation services are to be given better guidance when selecting suitable mediators. And for providers of mediation services, incentives are to be created to continuously improve their qualifications.
